FAQs: Passport and Visa information
You will require a valid passport to travel on any of our overseas holidays, but please bear in mind you may also require a passport for entry to the UK's Crown Dependencies (eg Isle of Man and Jersey). We always recommend, even if travelling within the UK on a flight, you carry your passport.
You should always check the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office website for the most up to date passport and visa requirements.
Travelling to and within the European Union:
- Check your passports issue date and expiry date
- Your Passport can not be more than 10 years old when you enter your destination country. This meansthe "date of issue" must be less than ten years ago.
- Many European countries require you to have a minimum of three months left on your passport on the day you leave the EU (the "date of expiry").
- New entry requirements are coming soon in the form of the European Entry/Exit Scheme (EES) and the European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS) - see below for more information.
Travelling outside of the European Union:
- Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months from the date of return, but each country is different, and you should check the requirements.
- You may require a visa for your destination. Please visit https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice for more information.
