Formed of five spectacularly beautiful fishing towns, the Cinque Terre National Park is one of the most beloved regions of Italy.
The five towns of Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Manarola, Monterosso and Corniglia are all perched gracefully on hillsides, together comprising a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the early medieval period. The Northern Italian region is home to a remarkable mix of enchanting scenery and nature, and being surrounded by vineyards, Cinque Terre holidays also provide the chance to sample some of Liguria's very best wines.
Home to incredibly photogenic working fishing harbours, the five towns boast a real sense of authentic Italian life, despite the justifiable popularity of Cinque Terre tours. A stroll around these ancient towns is made even more enjoyable by the ban on cars, introduced more than a decade ago. Discover medieval sites and ornate churches and unwind at a picturesque beach before refuelling at a shore-front cafe. For the very best that these alluring and colourful towns have to offer, take a look at our tours which offer excursions to Cinque Terre.

Part of the charm is simply strolling through these five towns.
Anchovies are an important staple in the region's food scene. You'll find them prepared in numerous ways, usually served with pasta or vegetables. These small fish are so adored that Monterosso even holds two anchovy festivals every year!
For a bite on-the-go, be sure to try the local focaccia - the Cinque Terre is said to be home to some of the best. Visit a "focacceria" and try a slice with cheese, tomato or onions.
With the region being home to an array of great wines, you'll find plenty of opportunities to sample the delicious local vintages. Among the most popular is Sciacchetrà, a sweet wine found only in the Cinque Terre.
